I have already tried almost all different combinations between these 6 RAMs (2 old 2GB, and 4 new 4GB). They are 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM 1600 (PC3L 12800) RAMs, which seems to be the correct kind. I have already tried 2 different sets of 4GB RAMs, one couple was second hand, the other pair brand new Crucial. because when I try one of the new (4GB) RAMs with one of the old (2GB) RAMs, it works fine. I am pretty sure this is not about RAMs not being inserted properly, or dusty slots etc. The Macbook I have is a mid-2009 and has OSX El Capitan. I saw other people had the similar issue, however mine seems to be a bit different. I am trying to upgrade my Macbook Pro memory from 4GB to 8GB, however when I start the laptop it beeps 3 times, without loading the OS, and just keeps doing that.
